PM merchandise/icon design quest

    misty is getting a dye-sublimation system which means there could be more varieties of PM merchandise in the future. She would take care of all the work and give PerlMonks a percentage of the sales. So now we need to give her designs to work with and or items you would be interested in getting.

    The most obvious items are:

    • Mugs
    • Mousepads

    Here are some other possibilities:

    • coasters
    • keychains
    • wall clocks (8" round)
    • wrist watches (quartz, genuine leather bands, 1 1/4" diameter)
    • fridge magnets
    • frame magnetic magnets (4" round, hold 1.75"x1.75" photos)
    • polyester or cotton tote bags (have to check them out)

    I'll leave it at that. If you've got ideas for items, cool designs, or know which items you'd be interested in getting let us know below.

    I'm notoriously bad at coming up with new poll ideas. Help me out here please. You probably won't get awarded any extra XP even if this is a quest cuz that equals additional work for me. However, if I find your poll idea worthy I can add it to a pool of potential polls for the future. Then I just need to write a script and add it to my crontab.

    Your mission: make the Reviews Section look a lot less bare. Write up a review for your favorite module, book, conference, PM user. If you're lucky I might write up a review of YAPC or Memoize

    If you really have an ax to grind with a given book... etc or believe it's your divine call to warn others to avoid a given book etc... that's allowed too.

    Update: Post your review in Reviews. I'm deleting any reviews in this thread when they become a /real/ review.

Themes Design Quest

    Your job to design a theme for inclusion into Perl Monks. You can do this a number of ways. Save the HTML from the frontpage and one from a node with some replies listed below it. Save the HTML page... play around with the colors replace any images with your own and then send me a copy of the source plus any images you may have changed. Another option is to take a screen shot of a page and send me the result. If you take that approach I'd like you to include a message with all of the hex color values you used for various attributes.

    I'll include any I like plus the one you guys vote up the highest.

Regexp Quest

    This quest will include any tutorials you add on regular expressions. Stuff added within the categorized Q&A section. One thing I think that would be cool is if people added snippets for golden regular expressions and then we can compile all of those onto one page.

    Also this time around add a note to this node linking any nodes you made that you'd like considered for "grading" in this quest.

    If none of the previous quests have grabbed you, add your ideas to Got quest ideas?. I've got a few ideas that I think would be kewl but I'm going to have to code up some things specifically for them so I'll probably wait until exams are over and I have a little bit more time to work.
