Unfortunately, Koine didn't entirely supplant Classical Greek, and people still argue over the translation of various words.

    What do you mean? There is no such thing like Classical Greek; we have attic, ionic, dorian etc dialects, and even more! 'The lango of Homer', 'The lango of Plato' and so on, and so forth... They all disappear after koine was developed.

    'Koine' in greek means 'common'.

      Sure—I use "Classical Greek" as shorthand for "not Koine". It's a lazy synecdoche.
