Fellow Monks:
Here's my problem... It seems like whenever I start a new Perl programming project, I am very exited about it at first. Then, after two or three days of intense coding, I get tired of working on that same project. In my heart of hearts, I really want to get the project done, but I am so burnt out on it that I just put it away.
After a few weeks or so, I'll get that program out again and work hard on it for a few days and get tired of it again.
If I'm writing a program for someone else, I have that motivation to get it done because they're waiting for it. But, when I try to work on my own projects I never get much done. Do any of the other monks have this problem? What have you found that helps you to stick with the task at hand and just get it done?
I'd appreciate any advice anyone has for me. Joshua

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
