And, of course, the cousin thereof. A repairman is hired to fix a vital machine. He listens to descriptions of what happened, what it sounded like before it died, and examines it in minute detail. He finds the vital area, pulls out a small hammer and pounds the one spot with the hammer. The machine works oncemore, and he hands the boss an invoice, $1,000. Boss asks why? $1000 just for hitting it with a hammer? Man says, for hitting with hammer, $1. For knowing where to hit with hammer, $999.
