VNC and VMWare are two different things. VMWare emulates an i386 type system, enabling you to 'install' a Windows inside a linux box, or vice versa. VNC is just a means of remote connection to an existing, running machine. (And thus is most useful as client on one machine, server on another.)

Caveat: They may have added functionality since I last looked, but if that includes emulation, I'd be surprised.

    True, castaway. I've made a little mess in my reply. I intended to recommend VMWare so he could install a windows inside his linux box and run it from there.
