I'm currently trying out Data::UUID as a way to generate unique ids for an application I'm working on after reading about it here.

So far it has suited my needs very well.

    Note that although UUIDs are guarenteed unique, they do not guarentee unguessability.

      Yep, I should have mentioned that, I'm not using the module for anything like session keys where I have to worry about someone guessing my keys.
