Regex::Presuf is the closest match to automatic
regex generation on CPAN, that I know of. It generates a regex based on a word
list, where the resulting regex is usually more efficient than just concatenating all the words together with a "|".
If you haven't already, you should check out Mastering Regular Expressions. It has an
excellent chapter on machine generated regexes for matching email
addresses. The resulting regex can be seen in the CPAN module
Email::Valid.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
