Your problem is that you misunderstand the way perlfunc:grep works.

As a hint, this line

      if(grep($username, @ignore) || grep($askname, @ignore)) {
[download]

Should probably look something like this

      if(grep( /$username/, @ignore) || grep( /$askname/, @ignore)) {
[download]
