Interesting. The solution I was expecting you to mention was spinning the egg (on its short axis), then stopping it for a split second, then letting go. If the egg is raw, it will start spinning again. If cooked, it'll stay put. --t. alex "Nyahhh (munch, munch) What's up, Doc?" --Bugs Bunny
