No, perl.com was not a mirror of perl.org.
I should have checked the wayback-machine before asking:

perl.com and perl.org are different sites but perl.com is referenced (linked) from perl.org - search for "Perl News" on perl.org. Now it says "RSS config broken".
I understand how hyperlinks and references work ;) Perl.com is an important site.
