How can I create a 500kb perl by using staticperl?

chenryn has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I found the App::Staticperl and saw the POD said that it can "create a single 500kb binary that contains perl and 100 modules". But after I run the smallperl.bundle, I only got a 3.5MB binary. What's wrong?

    Greetings, chenryn

I notice you indicate you only got a 3.5MB file.

In my book 500k is one half (1/2) of 1MB.
So it appears you got more than you bargained for?

Hey. I'm not completely useless. I can be used as a bad example.
