in reply to Continuing an abandoned(?) CPAN module

It's great that Rutger is picking up and running with the ball on this one. In general, how would one go about taking up where someone else drops off? I would suspect, as Rutger has done here, that the Monestary is a good place to start, if there isn't a valid email for the author or pointer to a web page. Not that I am ready to (or able to!!) pick up the reigns of a module, but I believe that the knowledge would be good to know. Thanks for any input.

If the author can be contacted and is willing to transfer, they can transfer ownership by changing permissions at PAUSE. If the module has been abandoned and the author cannot be contacted, emailing modules@perl.org about taking over maintenance and transfering permissions is right the way to get started.

Very good info. I appreciate your time!
