The number of years of experience seems to be important in many positions, especially those at medium and larger sized companies. If a person has a couple years of experience out of college, there's one range. For someone with ten years of related experience (aka Sr. Developer) there's another range. Having a college degree also affects salary ranges offered, and in many cases in my area whether you are considered at all.
