in thread Why should any one use/learn Perl 6?

I believe (but don't care enough to verify) that both people to whom I refer post(ed) here. I have no intention to call either of them out, because there's no value in doing so.

My point is only that I believe that toxic Rakudo advocacy is counterproductive and exacerbates some of the response.

Do you mean to say that any mention of Perl 6 here is toxic?

Declaring Perl 6 off topic would harm the foundation of the monastery.

And I see far more irrationality and vitriol from the Perl 6 haters* than from the lovers.

Not at all. I mean that some discussion has turned toxic. I believe it would be unproductive to give specific examples, though.

I think that's overstating things. (I contributed to the design and implementation of both.) P6 was an influence on parts of Moose, but Moose also influenced P6, especially to the degree that Moose influenced NQP and MoarVM—and Smalltalk, Common Lisp, and the Kiczales book preceded both.

I like to think I can learn from my mistakes.
