I compiled a list of music I had listened to in the last month or so on my comp. Aside from shoutcast here is what I found.

Electonic/Acid Jazz:
Radiohead, Portishead, Sasha and Digweed, Parks and Wilson, Underworld, Boards of Canada, Massive Attack, Amon Tobin, Bjork, Mogwai, Hooverphonic, Mono, Lamb, Future sound of London, The Orb, Orbital, Unkle.

Alternative/Metal:
Jeff Buckley, Devine Comedy, Tool, Perfect Circle, Failure, Queens of the Stone age, The Black Heart Procession, Remmy Zero, Red Red meat, Chris Cornell, At the Drive In, Supergrass, On, Low, My Morning Jacket, Cake.

Country:

Patsy Cline, Jonny Cash, old Tom Waits, Willie Nelson.

Rap/Hip Hop:

Outkast, Nem, Run DMC, Snoop, Luda.

Classical:

Beethovens 7th, Brahms Symphony #9, Chopin, Handel, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak.

Blues/Jazz:

Joe Richardson, Billy Holiday, BB King.

Older Stuff:

Mammas and the Pappas, Animals, Bill Withers, Ottis Redding, Simon and garfunkel, Kingston Trio, Beatles.

If anybody would like to recomend some group or another in any genre, PM me and I will check them out. I also encourage those with open minds to check out some of the groups I have listed above. Let me know what you think, even if it is negative.

I will ++ you for: Radio Head, Portishead, Massive Attack, Amon Tobin, Bjork, Lamb, Future Sound of London, Tool, Perfect Circle, Outkast, Run DMC (RIP Jay), and basically everything under classical. I would recomend: Tricky, Juno Reactor, Maroon 5, and Vivaldi. Some of the bands you've listed I've never heard of, and will check out. Funny. Have you noticed that anybody with similar alternative tastes listens to pretty much everything you do? For instance if somebody tells me they love Radiohead, then I can usually bank on them loving Portishead, Bjork, Perfect Circle etc. I have all of Tricky's stuff, and have actually been listening to them in my car for a few months. I know Juno Reactor pretty well also. I dont think I have heard Maroon 5, and I also like Vivaldi. Judging by the bands you like, I think you would really get into black heart procession, and Failure. Failure had several encredibly influential members that later went on to become members of Queens of the stonage, Perfect Circle, On, and literally about 10 others. I have been listening to and loving Nightmares on wax recently. Do you recommend anybody else? Hok_si_la	[reply]

Don't agree with many of your classifications, but recognizing many of the groups I'd suggest http://3wk.com. As far as groups: Sigur Ros (Icelandic, but sings in a made-up language), Gus Gus, Chemical Brothers and Futurama; Land of the El Caminos, Soul Coughing, dEUS (Belgian), The Rentals (second group of Matt Sharp, lead singer of Weezer), Modest Mouse (especially older stuff) and Ugly Casanovas (supergroup with MM lead singer), 764-HERO. And for the harder stuff of course Primus, Faith No More, Ozzy, Clawfinger (Swedish Rap-metal) and Therapy?. Oh yeah, also Ben Lee and maybe Looper. `-- I'm not belgian but I play one on TV. belg4mit, The classifications were extrememly generic at best and were intended for those with limited knowledge about the mentioned bands, and of music altogether. I could have literally classified those 50 or so groups into about 25 categories. Sigur Ross is great! I really should have had them in my recommended list. My wife has the Sigur Ross alien tatoo'd ......somewhere. I also love Gus Gus, and old Chem Brothers (dirt). Soul Coughing is another band I know a bunch about. I listen to them a few times a year. Modest Mouse is great. The drummer for Primus lived in my small college town for a while. I literally grew up listening to their stuff. Favorite from them was the song Southbound Packaderm. Woodpeckers from Mars was my little group of friends' theme song in high school. Ozzy is well, Ozzy. I have not heard anything from the following bands: Land of the El Caminos (though I live there) dEUS The Rentals Ugly Casonovas 764-Hero Clawfinger Ben Lee Looper I look forward to checking all of them out though along with the site you included. The Clawfinger self titled album Clawfinger (album link) is OK, but after about half of the album, it gets repetative. I can only stand it for about 3 songs before I toss it back into the collection not to be brought out for another month or so.	[reply]

Yes, but their older stuff is much better (Use Your Brain and Deaf Dumb Blind) ditto for Therapy (Screamager)? For both there are a few gems (Therapy?: Church of Noise; Clawfinger: Vienna) on newer albums but on the hole they are no longer superb, as you say. `-- I'm not belgian but I play one on TV.
