in reply to Perl News: Approval Nodelet missing options

Ken: I think Perl News is one of the nodelets for which NO approval is required or possible. Just searched a bit for the documentation on that policy... but discovered I'm getting a "permission denied" for the Superdoc (that may reflect a change in the way we're doing site documents) and am likewise denied access to its faqlet (despite being a member of SiteDocClan.

However, your concern seems valid in light of a statement in What is consideration? re moving nodes:

"Sometimes someone approves a node, and you find you disagree with that decision. Other times, you may feel that the section into which a node was approved was not the best choice. In these cases, you can recommend that the node be unapproved, and, if appropriate, moved to another single, specific section.
"Only unapproved nodes can be moved from one section to another.
"The following sections are the only ones that support moving of root nodes to/from them via the Approval nodelet:
  • (some items skipped)
  • Perl News"

Unfortunately, the sig below applies. I've run out of time to make this more than an anecdotal recollection.

    G'day ww,

Thanks for your efforts in attempting to track down an answer.

I was a bit surprised that you were denied access to site documentation: you've been a member of SiteDocClan for as long as I can remember!

If "Perl News" needs to be removed from that "What is consideration?" list, perhaps "Craft" could be taken out at the same time (I just noticed that's obsolete and unused for over 13 years).
