( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
Thank you for compiling this. Although I did not have time this evening to read over it closely, a quick scan shows it hits of lots of topics I am less than familiar with. I will have to return to this node at a later time.

The one big missing in my mind is that I saw no mention of module-starter. I have a small directory in my sandbox filled with short bash scripts which read like this:

module-starter --module="My::Module" \ --dir="/home/hesco/sandbox/My-Module" \ --license="gpl" \ --author="Hugh Esco" \ --email="hesco@campaignfoundations.com"
I run the script, and it populates a build directory in my sandbox, with a starter test suite, and scaffolding for whatever modules I defined in the module-starter script, leaving me ready to focus on the problem domain instead of being overwhelmed by the technical details laid out in your article.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong>   <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
