Carp::Always does extend warnings.
>perl -MCarp::Always -we"sub f { print undef } f()"
Use of uninitialized value in print at -e line 1
main::f() called at -e line 1
It's also conditional (on a command line option), which is surely better than changing the source code to do debugging.

have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
