That doesn't make either nmake or dmake reasonable. I've been able to use spaces and other meaningful punctuation in my paths for decades now. It's the tool's problem if it can't cope. Well... the tool makes it *my* problem but then it's just a bad tool.

Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
