You're working too hard on that HTML::Parser part:
use HTML::Parser;
use HTML::Entities;
HTML::Parser->new(
default_h =>
[sub {
print shift;
}, "text"],
start_h =>
[sub {
local ($text, $tag,$attr) = shift;
if ($tag eq "img") {
$attr->{src} = Lurker::pick_random( 'IMAGES' );
$text = "<$tag";
$text .= " $_=\"" . encode_entities($attr->{$_}
+). "\""
for keys %$attr;
$text .= ">";
}
print $text;
}, "text,tag,attr"],
)->parse_file($doc);

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
<sub> <sup> <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
