Are you complaining about the ActiveState build on Windows, or ActiveState in general? I am sure that a number of problems with ActiveState Perl can be traced backed to Win32. PPM is an attempt to get around Windows lack of a built in C compiler and no make program. In fact, most of the issues with ActiveState can probably be traced back to having to work with Windows. Referring to Perl on Windows then the ActiveState build is easy to get up and running. It has some problems but I don't see anything comparable to it. Other systems which come with make and a C compiler I would never consider ActiveState. In reply to Re: Getting Fed Up with ActiveState
