( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Well, I know that a cheap answer may be "don't post OT stuff, period!" but most of us have "real lives" too, and I guess that however keen we are on Perl we also have other hobbies, or interests or a private life and the like... so if done with moderation, I don't think it would be that bad. And it would be definitely interesting if framed in the form of a link, if possibly a weak one, with Perl...

Well, since one can put everything (within reasonable limits) in his/her homenode, an option could be to post into notes to his/her own homenode. Now, this was once possible, and I can understand why it is now prohibited: it would be a mess if anyone could reply to anyone else's home node. But may this feature be brought back at least for one's own homenode?

It would be useful for stuffing in such notes contents that are relevant enough both to PM and the homenode itself, but not enough to fit in the latter - or maybe one reasonably doesn't want it to grow too much...

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
