Great thread! Anyway, "kwaping" is just a made-up word. I wanted a domain right at the height of the internet silliness (1999), and all the good stuff was taken. I define it on my website as the sound a cartoon bullet makes when bouncing off a super-hero. If not taken directly from Calvin & Hobbes, the word was at least heavily inspired by it.
