Archive::Tar will install without IO::Zlib, but it is
clearly documented that it can't handle compressed or
gzipped tarballs unless you install IO::Zlib.
Otherwise you can still do regular, non-compressed
tarballs. IMO, this is a good approach.

<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
