My experience with the "big boards" has not been so good.
The problem is that they look for "perl related" jobs, not
"perl jobs." So I will set up an agent and say
(as best I can given the contraints) "ONLY PERL." What do
I invariably get? Every job under the sun that has the
word "perl" in it somewhere. I've seen Visual Basic jobs,
sybase jobs, Win9x help desk jobs, and worse show up, just
because someone added a phrase like "Knowledge of foo,
bar, baz, and perl would be helpful" at the bottom of
the job description. You'd think some of those sites could
write a more intelligent filter.... :)
