Hmm, in the UK the way I've heard and use such terms, a soft-drink is a non-alcoholic bevarage, not necissarily fizzy. Whereas a non-specified carbonated beverage is a fizzy-drink, fizzy-pop, or simply pop. But, as we are on the subject...
