Ah, but you are assuming that Monks above a certain level will behave themselves and not sully the front page, but I think there have been plenty of examples from monks of all levels where they have let themselves get carried away with the moment and used some 'flamage'....myself included in there.

We're all human and will at some point probably speak before we think.

Perhaps a better option is to be able to click a box on your node that is displayed on the front page to have it removed from the front, and then you can change it. Then if someone wants it moved back up to the front page, they will make it happen.

just $0.02. cheers!

Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
