( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Well, in my book, the Best of would surely consist of high-rated questions and high-rated answers, so I would propose that all threads and discussion over a certain reputation are Best of Perlmonks. But then, a discussion is nothing without the people taking part in it. So all people's home nodes have to go in there, if they took part in a discussion. Also at least the off-site images, if there are any.

There remains the small problem of determining which nodes got a high rating, or even simpler, finding for each discussion a node with a desired reputation - and somehow, the reputation of a node remains secret to everyone but to root, the author and any voter. So my strategy would be to recruit a faction of voters that report on "high reputation" nodes (through putting a "probe" vote on the nodes, thus skewing the image a bit).

A second strategy (possibly extending the first) would be to use the Perl Monks User Search node and search for posts ordered by reputation. If you know the reputation of a certain node you can guess the reputation of other nodes based on the relative ranking of that node.

The quality of the Worst Nodes is not really high in my book, but the same strategy could hold for collecting the Worst of Perlmonks on your Palm.

Of course, you can always ask vroom to provide you with the necessary information, but where's the fun then ? ;)

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
