I think it would be a excellent idea to start a Perl 6 section. Of course that would deal with everything Perl 6 (SOPW, Meditations, Code, etc. all rolled together). There are a several good reasons to do so since it would make:
  • things interesting from a historical aspect.
  • avoiding the topic easier for those not interested.
  • things easier to sort out later (5 vs. 6 issues).
I can appreciate people wanting to be on the bleeding edge, but think about how many 5.0 shops are still around and not likely to change anytime soon. I can say with certainty that our University won't be movng to Perl 6 until it has been fully vetted/stable for at least a year.

Naturally I'll play with it at home as soon as it's available.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
