Then documentation should say that, not only scalar variables with names '\', '1' are valid, but also these names are valid for all structures. Otherwise it is a bug.
One can use "$1[$2]$3[$4]$5" expecting no array (with impossible names according doc) interpretation. Thank you for informative reply and expanding name of a node to better! In reply to Re^2: $1[ (or "Does an array @1 exist in Perl ? - Yes!")
