( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
I've gone by SifuKurt online for many years. I used to go by Beowulf (when I wrote my Master's thesis, I spent more time with that particular Old English poem than I spent with my family). At any rate, in addition to being a programmer, I'm a martial artist and have been since I was six years old. (Just had a birthday, doing math in head....26 years.) "Sifu," pronounced "See Foo," is the title in Chinese martial systems, collectively known as Kung Fu, that is given to the teacher. Sifu literally means "teacher father." I teach three Chinese systems, Taiji Quan (aka Tai Chi Chuan), Chung-I Quan, and Wu Dan Snake System. I was awarded the title "Sifu" by my instructor shortly before he passed away. When I teach, I like to keep my classes somewhat informal, hence I prefer to go by first name, Sifu Kurt, rather than last name, Sifu Kincaid. Also Sifu Kurt is easier to say.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
