Read the thread. There are a lot of replies that point out issues with that coding style and the specific example. There are no replies that find it the epitome of good style.
Optimising for fewest key strokes only makes sense transmitting to Pluto or beyond

<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
