The quote I remember (or don't) definitely had the part about someone "coming after you", which was the whole pun. It came from one of the Perl books, "Learning Perl" or "Programming Perl".
It's strange that you mention the psychopath one, as that's what prompted me to think back the the "coming after you, in case they do".
