I appreciate the outreach, and I understand you're trying to explain why you think it all went so sideways, and smooth it all over, but I think we've already burnt that bridge, salted the ashes, and nuked the site from orbit.
I'm sorry that there seems to be no way to find common ground between my personal principles, and those of the majority here. (I did not force my views on anyone. The "cop" remark was inappropriate.) As such, I can't continue to participate here without either making compromises I can't live with, or dealing with hostility every time we disagree.
Life's too short to hang around places I know will upset me. See you at conferences, maybe.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
