bingos, khen1950fx and AM: I have installed 0.9136 according to your instructions - here is the tail of the installation:
Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Internals\Source +\SQLite.pm Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Internals\Source +\SQLite\Tie.pm Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Internals\Utils\ +Autoflush.pm Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Module\Author.pm Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Module\Checksums +.pm Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Module\Fake.pm Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Module\Signature +.pm Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Module\Author\Fa +ke.pm Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Shell\Classic.pm Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Shell\Default.pm Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Shell\Default\Pl +ugins\CustomSource.pm Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Shell\Default\Pl +ugins\Remote.pm Installing F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib\CPANPLUS\Shell\Default\Pl +ugins\Source.pm Appending installation info to F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\perl\lib/perll +ocal.pod BINGOS/CPANPLUS-0.9136.tar.gz F:\Win7programs\Dwimperl\c\bin\dmake.EXE install UNINST=1 -- OK

Looks ok, I think.
I then ran cpanp, and it seems to be working fine.

That was pressurizing. (sigh of relief).

Thank you for you investment of time and energy - Helen

By the way: can cpanp install a module from a PPM repository?

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
