Suppose this is the sentiment I'd agree with. I've basically never* been asked about my participation on PerlMonks. I have, however, used some of the trickery I've learned here to place me ahead of the pack in my chosen niche. *I can only recall being asked one single time in the past decade, by a coworker, if I was "on" this site...
