    You've told us what you're doing but you haven't asked a question about it.

    You should show your script or, at least, the part that is giving you problems.

    I'd recommend taking a look at: How do I post a question effectively?

    Not related to Perl, but you might want to also take a look at HTML documentation. You'll find a variety of HTML links on the W3C Site Map.

    Are you sure you want to generate a page like this? It doesn't make any sense to me:

    1. you have defined 3 links inside your page, but they look like 9.

    2. all of them have the same destination

    3. you are talking about "children" and "levels". If "children" are the links inside your page (there are three of them), what are the levels are where are they?

    Before you start generating something you should make sure it makes sense.

    There are a bunch of template modules in CPAN that are often used to machine generate HTML. For a quick start I strongly recommend HTML::Template. For kitchen sink templating take a look at Template::Toolkit.
