You know how you click the "++" button to vote on a node and then try to scroll down and your browser decides that you've given focus to a form element so obviously you didn't mean to navigate on the page, you meant to change your choice in that input element?
Eh, no, I don't. To navigate down, I either hit the "end" button, the "page down" button (repeatedly if necessary), click on the lower end of the vertical navigation bar, or use the scroll wheel on my mouse.

That all works, regardless whether my browser has its focus on a form element or not. (Except when using the scroll wheel while the focus is a textarea -- then it will scroll the textarea instead).

Well, consider yourself lucky. "end", "page down", "down arrow", and "mouse wheel" all change form drop-downs here. Navigating the mouse pointer to the narrow strip of the scroll bar is a pain, as is evidenced by the invention of the "scroll wheel". And I use the mouse as little as practical (it is slow and cumbersome compared to keyboard methods in most cases of there being a keyboard method).

I have a distant memory of having to use Alt-Down to navigate a drop-down. I hope to make or find an add-on that moves back toward the navigation keys being useful much, much more often. I also hate that clicking on a Flash&trade component makes even more keyboard navigation impossible, especially Alt-F, Alt-D, and Ctrl-Tab.

      all change form drop-downs here.

Where's "here"? I don't experience any of the phenomena you've described... and never have, in any browser, AFAICR.

What a minute. Your voting buttons are in dropdowns? Mine aren't, they're plain old-fashioned radio buttons. What browser are you using?

Your voting buttons are in dropdowns?

No, I never said that. I mentioned voting button selection getting changed when I try to scroll as an example of attempts to navigate being thwarted by form input elements (and I've heard lots of people complain about that specific case). And I said drop-downs take over (almost?) all forms of scrolling via keyboard (I fail to find any that still work but I won't claim to know all of the possibilities).

I was mistaken about scroll wheel changing drop-downs here now (much of the time I don't have a mouse wheel, including when I replied and had to resort to memory of the scroll wheel changing a selection, a memory that I still have despite not reproducing it here now).
