Here is where vroom anounces the Perl News section; it just, in his words, "sucks news from the RDF from news.perl.org hourly."

The perlnewsbot is what gets (got?) the news.

Here perlnewsbot talks about the source of the news changing, and also hinting that Perl News may be no more.

Here your question was asked, and got one reply. It seems that vroom may have turned the perlnewsbot off, but I don't know if that's the case.
