No. Despite my location, I'm not a betting man. But if I was, I'd confine my flutters to things with better odds of predictability that an American's use of English--pachinko, spread bets or snow on christmas day :) More seriously. To my mind a re-write implies writing, something that was already written, again. Perl 6 had (has?) never been written before, so it cannot be a rewrite. Examine what is said, not who speaks -- Silence betokens consent -- Love the truth but pardon error.
