Gorby has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello Wise Monks, I've been using soap lite to connect to a soap server using an https url as proxy without problems for years now and suddenly today I began getting this error from soap lite: "500 SSL negotiation failed". What could this mean and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance. Gorby

Most likely, the SSL negotiation failed. Maybe the certificate expired, or it changed some information. CHeck with the system administrator of the SOAP webservice.

Thanks for the tip. By the way, would you be able instruct me on how to install a certificate on linux? Thanks for your help in advance. Gorby

This website is about Perl and I run Windows.

Look at the documentation for OpenSSL.
