Looking for module for EPSG coodinate conversion

japhy has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I'm big into plotting things that can be mapped using OpenLayers. However, I'm an absolute dunce when it comes to understanding the various projection schemas used. I don't know what EPSG4326 or EPSG900913 are. I just know that one has very funky numbers that don't look like lat/lng coords to me, and the other has normal-looking lat/lng coords.

In my JavaScript code, I just call the transform() method to do the conversion, but I don't know where to start to do that conversion in Perl. I don't know what module to look for. Any suggestions?

Thanks. I just so happened to download and install proj4 before writing this node. I'm glad to see I was moving in the right direction. I'm still a bit baffled by the syntax, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
