Node.Js versus POE

Anonymous Monk has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I was think about POE because I have been told some time ago about how awesome POE is "POE this" and "POE that" and POE all over. In the mean-time nodejs appeared and it seems to me that for writing servers nodejs is really superior to anything Perl. Can someone make a report on this on why/what/when/how to disprove/prove this claim ? I cannot do it myself since I am a modest Perl user. I post under anonymous for commodity reasons.

I cannot do it myself since I am a modest Perl user.

Is there a law against a modest Perl user learning another technology to see which is better for their own purpose? I don't think you should leave that decision up to anyone else. If you can take the time to learn them, (or just install/configure them at the least) maybe you can get personal insight as to which is better.

Ask a Windows guy if unix or Windows is better, and they'll say Windows. Then ask them how many times they've used unix, and they might say 'Oh I couldn't get it installed'. (Yes, that's happened to me) So you can't assume that another person's opinion or experience isn't biased in some way.
if there are many oppinions then bias is less important.
