Oh, I do that. I just like the extra space, especially since I often end a node with code, and my sig starts with code. Helps to make it visually separated.

    Oh, and add an hr tag at the start of your sig. No need then for a br or other vertical space and the division between the node body and your sig is quite clear (I'd forgotten I use an explicit hr tag).
