Hello, and welcome to my home node! I'm David Glick, a 16-year-old from Goshen, Indiana. I've been programming since I was eight, at least if Visual Basic counts. I've also dabbled in other languages such as Java, C/C++, and PHP. Several months ago my friend dooberwah introduced me to the Perl language and community, and since then I've been hooked.
When not programming or wasting my time with schoolwork (I'm a junior), you can probably find me busy with one of these activities:
- sleeping
- eating and cooking
- pondering the mysteries of the universe
- reading: especially sci-fi/fantasy (Lord of the Rings, Watership Down, the Hitchhiker "trilogy," etc.) and books about Perl and programming in general
- biking
- ping-pong
- keeping websites up to date: my church, my school newspaper, Nonsense Software, Superclipium
- doing things with the other members of Nonsense Software, such as frisbee golfing, building giant ballistas, writing Superclipiums, holding network parties, creating our own language, or (very rarely) working on software such as Cowtris--our website should tell you more than you want to know about us
Other interests/hobbies of mine include math, physics, biology, geography, astronomy, weather, German (and languages in general), cows, penguins, beavers, pacifism, artificial intelligence, Linux, pi, cryptic crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, photography, singing, jazz and classical music, collecting sugar packets, and bugging other people about their spelling/grammatical mistakes. :) Oh, and I'm a bona fide Canadian. Eh?
