Okay, now I've got this nice dedicated (managed...) host. I can, if I choose, login as root.

So, fellow Monks, what should I choose? Is it appropriate to install the necessary CPAN modules globally as root, or should I set up a site-specific CPAN module repository and refer to it in a use lib statement, as I am constrained to do under shared hosting?

In your (much greater) experience, what do you advise?
