KinoSearch subscriber lists lost

Greets,

A couple of months ago, just prior to my move from Eugene, Oregon to San Diego to take a new job with Eventful, the box that was running the rectangular.com website suffered a hard drive crash. I was able to get nearly everything restored within a few days from backups, but there was one crucial missing section: my backup routines had missed portions of the server's Mailman data, including the subscriber lists for the kinosearch, kinosearch-commits, and kinosmoke mailing lists.

Earlier this week, the last ditch try at retrieving the subscriber lists came up short: DriveSavers called to let me know that their attempts to recover data from the bad drive had failed. It had suffered a head crash, and the platters were so scraped up they couldn't get anything off them.

Since DriveSavers only charges when they're successful, that's $500-$2700 I didn't have to spend. However, I have no good way of rebuilding those subscriber lists.

If you were previously subscribed to any of the KinoSearch mailing lists, you will need to resubscribe. Apologies for the inconvenience, and I hope I reach a significant fraction of you through one channel or another.
