Offer reply in thread to "toplevel"?

Hi Monks!
In the top view of the nodes e.g. SOPW i see all the questions and i could use the button "Offer your reply", since i want to read answers before posting the same as other helpers i click the node, from there i could only answer to nodes of "other answerer", is there a way to answer to the original posting directly without going back?
If not: Then this will be an item on my ever growing wishlist ;-).

    Use "Comment on" immediately below the toplevel message — (if I'm understanding you correctly...)

      Hmm. Yes. I searched for it at my users settings, and was missing the things right in front of me. Sorry. *Note to myself: be more patient, ask on CB first, next time* ...

    There's always a way. I use tabs in my browser to solve this dilemma. Open the link to reply to the OP in a new tab first, then continue reading the other replies. Switch to the new tab when you are ready to answer.
