I personally believe that Google is always a good resource, but a very generic one as well. I did hope in a CPAN-ready specific one instead. Eventually I did what I should probably have done in the first place: roll my own solution - not sure whether it came out better or worse than the hits you found searching; but that's in the eye of the beholder, and what's important in this sense is that I got what I needed.
