There is data in these files, yes. Some have a little bit (1k) some a lot (up to maybe 400k.. not much more). I am not using them to keep track of existance of other files. The data itself is of interest, in regards to the hash/ the digest /the filename of this metadata (with no structure). "Is this a tracking sys..." Yes and no. I am *expecting* for the document names (locations), hosts, and data to change. If that happens, then that document is no longer the same document- it's irrelevant. ( I know.. that's a very concise summary of what's up- That discussion is a very large and involved one. )
